DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- On Monday, Nov. 19, 2-year-old Sasha Ray was brutally stabbed in the chest seven times in her home by her stepsister Tyasia Jackson, 13.
Tyasia Jackson was left home to babysit her four sisters at the Waldrop Station complex while her parents ran errands. Jackson sneaked a 14-year-old boy in the home and hid him in the closet. Her sisters saw the boy and told the neighbor, Veronica Hillman. Hillman ran him out of the house and returned home.
Haneefa and Shelton Ray received a phone call from Tyasia. Ray says, “She called my wife and told her Sasha was missing. She actually tried to blame it on the neighbor. She said she thought the neighbor took Sasha with her.” They rushed home to look for Sasha.
Hillman and Ray found Sasha covered in her own blood lying in the wooded area adjacent to their backyard. According to Ray, she was still alive when he picked her up. Ray and his wife rushed to their car to take Sasha to the emergency room. However, she died in her father’s arms before they reached the end of the Waldrop Station community.
Spokeswoman for the Dekalb County Police Department, Mekka Parrish says, “The girl had multiple stab wounds. The 13-year-old was angry about something.”
Hillman and the three sisters believed Tyasia was angry because she thought Sasha would tell her parents about the boy.
“She made the other kids go upstairs, and then stabbed Sasha repeatedly by the back door. Put her outside and came back into the house, cleaned up the blood, changed clothes, and then came out here and started looking for her with everybody else,” Ray said.
On Tuesday, Nov. 20, Tyasia called her stepfather and confessed at 11:00 PM. Ray says, “She said that her head was hurting and that she wasn’t in her right mind.”
Tyasia Jackson is being tried as an adult.
Respectfully, I would like to extend my condolences to the family for their loss. I pray that God will give them the strength necessary to endure the situation and heal their hearts.
Now, what was going on in the Ray-Jackson household? There are so many unanswered questions.

Questions & Comments
Why was a 13 year old left babysitting four children? How long has she been babysitting? That is a substantial amount of responsibility for a child.
Shelton Ray stated that when he picked Sasha up, she was still alive. Did Tyasia see any signs of life in Sasha and still ignored it instead of calling 911?
Sasha was only two years old and her three sisters were older, therefore capable of telling their parents about the boy. Tyasia had to have previous issues with Sasha, seeing how she protected her other sisters.
Did Tyasia ever apologize or show any remorse? It only says she confessed.
If she wasn't in her right mind, how did she take the time to figure out a way to get rid of the body, clean up the blood, change clothes, search for Sasha with the others and call her mom to tell her a lie that Sasha was missing. Additionally, she even had her other sisters removed before she did it.
